Zirconium Crowns

Zirconium Crowns / Zirconium Veneers
Zirconium used for zirconium crowns is a robust material and has a shiny structure. It is used as an alternative to metal in the infrastructure of porcelain crowns. It is preferred because it does not contain metal and has a natural appearance. At the same time, it offers an aesthetically similar appearance to the tooth thanks to its light transmittance.

Zirconium Coating Application
Zirconium coating can be applied to the tooth where the problem is detected by the dentist as a result of the examination. Local anesthesia is used during the application. For the application of the coating, tooth reduction is required. After this stage, impressions are taken for the coating and the process of preparing the zirconium coating according to the measurements taken is started. This process takes between 3-5 days on average.

During the preparation of the veneer, temporary teeth are attached so that the patient does not have problems in eating and drinking. With the arrival of the prepared veneer, a rehearsal is made and with the approval of the patient, it is permanently bonded with transparent adhesives.

Zirconium Veneer Features

Zirconium veneers are frequently preferred by patients and dentists;

• They have a robust structure,
• Resistance to breakage and cracking,
• They have a natural and shiny appearance,
• They are resistant to abrasion,
• They are more advantageous in terms of gingival compatibility compared to crowns with metal substructure,
• Thanks to its translucent structure, it is effective to be compatible with natural teeth. Of course, the use of zirconium has some disadvantages as well as its advantages. It is a higher cost type of coating due to its properties. In addition, it is not recommended to make long bridge bodies in cases where the number of missing teeth is high.

Zirconium Veneer Care

Oral and dental health is important in the protection of the main teeth, as well as in the longevity of the treatments applied. Although it is long-lasting and durable, zirconium coating also needs care. The life of the coating can be extended with daily routine brushing and mouthwash. Periodic doctor controls should also support this.
